Local Author Storytime with Elizabeth Pier Smith

May 4 @ 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Join us for a local author story time with Elizabeth Pier Smith, featuring her book “It’s Not the Same: A Footnote Garden Tale.”

This story is a whimsical tale of accepting change from the viewpoint of a rather stodgy old toad. In the story something new appears in his garden which is very familiar to us, but is quite unsettling to him. What should he do to set his world right again?! Written in a paired reading style, the story encourages conversations while expanding vocabulary.

Elizabeth Pier Smith is an artist and retired elementary teacher. Her artwork has been published in three art books and was exhibited in the Arkansas Territory Bicentennial commemorative tour by Heart of America Artists. Having taught environmental science for many years and becoming a Northwest Arkansas Master Naturalist as well as a Rogers Garden Club member, she is a strong advocate of connecting children with nature to become better stewards of our earth. This publication is another step towards doing just that!
